Summer 2023
The Idea
Like many golfers, I enjoy putting around the house whenever I can. I wanted a way to track statistics like putts made, streaks, and consistency, so I began exploring the idea of a putting sensor.
Fall 2023
First Sensor Prototype
After months of experimenting, the first working sensor prototype came to life. To test the concept, I purchased a putting mat and started spending more time practicing at home.
Summer 2024
The Frustration
The sensor was working, but the putting mat wasn't. Between multiple pieces, constant setup, and nowhere to store it, practice felt more like a chore than a routine.

Cardboard Model
Frustration turned into experimentation. Using cardboard, tape, and toothpicks, I built the first concept for a self-contained putting mat. I wanted something that was easy to store, free of loose pieces, and always ready for practice.
Summer 2025
First Functional Prototype
What began as cardboard sketches and rough ideas became a working prototype. In the summer of 2025, the first fully functional Nice Roll was designed, 3D printed, and brought to life.

Preparing for Production
Refining the design and exploring manufacturing.

The Next Step.
Nice Roll has progressed from an idea to a functional prototype. The next challenge is turning that prototype into a manufactured product. We're currently refining the design, evaluating manufacturing partners, and preparing for production.
